Rosemary Coates, President

Ms. Coates is the President of Blue Silk Consulting. She is a seasoned executive with an MBA, 25 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Project Management and Systems Consulting. Prior to BSC, she was a Senior Director at SAP, the Supply Chain Practice Leader at KPMG Peat Marwick and at Answerthink, and a Regional Manager at Hewlett-Packard. Ms. Coates has consulted with global and domestic clients, VCs and PE firms on operations systems and processes. She has considerable international experience and has worked for extended periods in Asia and Europe. Her experience spans a broad range of industries including High Technology, Software, Chemicals, Health Care, Consumer Products, Industrial Products, Food Distribution, Transportation, Publishing, Retail, Oil and Gas. She has extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing and outsourcing in Asia, Europe and the US. She has authored an Amazon.com Best Seller book: 42 Rules for Sourcing and Manufacturing in China, 42 Rules for Superior Field Service and the Reshoring Guidebook.

Ms. Coates in a member of the Board of Directors at the University of San Diego Supply Chain Management Institute. She earned a BS in Business at Arizona State University and an MBA at the University of San Diego. She resides in Silicon Valley.

Frank W. Lange, Vice President

Frank W. Lange is Vice President at Blue Silk Consulting and the Principle Consultant Alder Creek Consulting, LLC, an advisory firm focusing on global growth strategies, supply chain and compliance. Mr. Lange has over 25 years of experience in managing global supply chains and driving organic and strategic growth across multiple regions. He has developed and subsequently executed strategic initiatives that drive value and increased competitiveness across the ocean carrier, freight forwarding and 3PL industries. He has developed and led multiple strategic alliances as well as global M&A initiatives with successful transactions in China and Singapore. As a senior executive experienced in strategic business development, global market and infrastructure growth, international sales and operations leadership, as well as acquisition analysis, planning, negotiation and integration, Mr. Lange has developed, acquired, integrated and/or managed businesses in 9 Asian countries, 10 European countries, in Mexico, Brazil and the US. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Italy, and has exceptionally deep experience successfully managing diverse global teams.

Mr. Lange earned a BA in International Relations and History from San Francisco State University and an MA in Asian Studies and Chinese History from San Diego State University.

Daisie Hobson

Daisie Hobson, Director

Ms. Hobson is the Director of Blue Silk Consulting. She recently returned from Mexico, where she served for two years as a Project Management Specialist Volunteer in the Peace Corps. She worked at a government research and manufacturing center located in Central Mexico. She was responsible for identifying the initial areas of improvement in the new project management system, implementing project management tools and policies, creating a weekly reporting system, working with and training project managers, assessing the current project management system and creating a project management curriculum for training future project managers.

With a BS in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, she began her professional career in the Semiconductor Industry in Arizona. She started as Process and Product Engineer for leading companies such as Motorola, Flip Chip, and Medtronic. After a brief stint in technical sales, Silicon Valley called and she moved to CA where she changed sides. She went from being the customer to supporting the customer by working for KLA-Tencor’s Global Support and Services team. At KLA-Tencor she managed and supported a multi-million dollar SEM system. After several years and thousands of air miles, she changed to consumer products by moving to Palm, Inc. where she helped launch Windows Mobile products and the revolutionary WebOS, the Palm Pre and Pixi. While at Palm she obtained a MS in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco.

Her work in these areas has taken her to over twenty countries including Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, India and The Philippines, where she met wonderful people, tried fantastic food and learned more about the local culture. As much as she enjoys working in and with other countries and helping their economies she is extremely interested in bringing manufacturing back to the US. She believes that a healthy balance is not only possible but necessary.

Don Page, Vice President

Mr. Page is a Vice President at Blue Silk Consulting. He is well versed in the Asia Pacific region and OEM, Alliances and Partnership business development. His uncommonly broad and deep knowledge in business and technology plus wide experience enables him to see and communicate joint value, craft exclusive market opportunities, execute intricate projects and deliver tangible results. His consulting style provides the basis for negotiating profitable contracts, executing marketing-making initiatives, delivering high value projects and nurturing enduring relationships. His skills were gained and honed while traveling the world to work in and with organizations ranging from start-ups to the largest international corporations. Prior to BSC, he was the WW Software OEM Manager for the Asia Pacific region at HP, Director of Application and Integration Services at Answerthink, Director of America’s Consulting Services at Viasoft and Director of Redevelopment Services at James Martin & Co.

Mr. Page earned a BS in Business Data Processing at Weber State University, and completed 1 year of MBA studies at Utah State University. He resides in Scottsdale, AZ.

Jim Reily, Vice President

Jim Reily is Vice President at Blue Silk Consulting and a Principal at R&R LLC, a field service, service logistics and operations consultancy. Prior to forming R&R, Jim was the Vice President, Worldwide Service Operations for Cymer Inc., leading the global field service, service parts supply chain, training, technical documentation and technical support teams. Jim joined Cymer from Cisco Systems Inc. where he was the Vice President, Technical Support, responsible for Cisco’s global network of on-site service engineers, service parts depots, as well as the service inventory management, service supply chain contracting, repair, and quality teams.

Jim served in the US Navy for 25 years as a Supply Corps Officer, specializing in aviation logistics, inventory management, financial management, and information technology. He was the Executive Officer of the Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, providing logistics support for the Pacific Fleet Naval Forces and he commanded the Defense Mega Center, San Diego, providing hosted information services in maintenance, logistics, payroll and administration for all Naval Forces in the western United States, Hawaii, Japan, and Indian Ocean areas. He holds the rank of Captain.

Jim earned an MA in National Security and Strategic Planning from the Naval War College, MS in Financial Management from the Naval Post Graduate School, MA in International Relations from Salve Regina University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Ohio State University.
